Brad Ferguson is a heavy equipment operator in the Road Maintenance Division, Department of Public Works. Brad is the primary operator of the County’s only equipment transport vehicle. He routinely transports over 50 pieces of equipment on a daily basis, which allows the division to complete its mission of maintaining 2,270 miles of roadway and associated facilities. Brad has logged approximately 900,000 miles of accident-free safe operations of the transport. Considering the amount of equipment he transports and the difficulty of negotiating through and around various neighborhoods and dealing with increased traffic, his record is exceptional. Brad’s excellent record is a result of his hard work, skill and dedication to duty. His work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done, makes him a valuable asset to Citrus County, which is why he has been chosen as the January Employee of the Month.

Kenney, Commissioner) Every month, the County Administrator recognizes an employee who has gone above and beyond their job responsibilities and selects them as Employee of the Month. Kathy Turner-Thompson has been with the County since 2010 and was with the Clerk’s office since 2001. She started as the Historical Resources Coordinator with Museum Services and was promoted to the Historical Resources Manager. Kathy is responsible for the identification, collection, preservation, interpretation and presentation of the artifacts and historical archival materials of Citrus County. She works with the Historical Society on a daily basis and participates in the development, research, design and fabrication of exhibits both on site and off site to promote Citrus County. Over the years, she has assisted with the installation of over 50 different exhibitions in the rotating gallery of local history with the support of grant funds from the Department of State. She is currently in the process of redesigning the pre-history gallery based on new information uncovered in the Chassahowitzka Springs project. Kathy is responsible for researching grant funding and to date has brought in over $2 million for the historical courthouse and historical resources in Citrus County. Since 2010, Kathy has entertained over 41,583 visitors to the Historic Courthouse, received $63,200 in contributions from the Historical Society and has supervised 97,416 of in-kind volunteer hours to support the museum. Kathy is an incredible asset to our County and is an important contributor to the success of the Historic Courthouse and Museum, which is why she has been chosen as the December Employee of the Month.
