BOCC Proclaims Tobacco Free Florida Week

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners presented a Proclamation at their regular meeting on May 9, 2017 proclaiming the week of May 7 - 13 as Tobacco Free Florida Week in Citrus County.
Smoking is an addiction and costs many smokers their health, their money and their time with friends and family. Tobacco Free Florida is a statewide campaign dedicated to saving money for individual tobacco users and the state as a whole, while improving the health and well-being of Floridians. Since its inception, the program has resulted in a significant decrease in smoking rates among both adults and teens in the state, leading to billions of dollars and countless lives saved. The Citrus County Tobacco Free Partnership is committed to the goals and objectives of Tobacco Free Florida Week through a variety of public health activities and programs.
The Board of County Commissioners recognizes the week of May 7 - 13 as Tobacco Free Florida Week in Citrus County, and calls the observance to the attention of all citizens.
