Citrus County Storm Debris Pickup Update

Category: Press Releases       Posted By: Denise Gallagher       Year: 2017

Citrus County’s storm debris contractor will commence the first of two roadside pickups of storm related VEGETATIVE ONLY debris on Monday, October 2.

The storm debris will be collected from every publicly accessible county road within Citrus County, as long as debris is not mixed and the debris is placed where it can be mechanically collected. Keep curbside debris from obstructing the view of motorists,  away from fire hydrants and any signage.

Please note, construction/demolition debris (furniture, carpet, shingles, building materials), and household hazardous waste WILL NOT be collected by the contractor but may be taken to the Citrus County Central Landfill.

The contractor will have crews throughout Citrus County and the schedule will be determined at a later date. Residents are asked to be patient as the contractor works to complete the collection.
