Storm Debris Collection

Category: Press Releases       Posted By: Denise Gallagher       Year: 2016

Citrus County Government anticipates the President’s signing of the Declaration of Emergency for Citrus County releasing FEMA funding for debris collection. Citrus County is asking all storm effected residents to be patient as the process of storm debris collection is contingent on receiving this federal status.

Residents are urged to place storm debris material at the roadside being conscious of traffic, fire hydrants, water meter boxes, cable TV and electrical lines. Debris should be piled and separated by material. Please pile yard debris and household debris separately. No household hazardous waste will be collected at this time.

The first of two FEMA funded hurricane debris pick-ups will be next week at the earliest. We will continue to update residents as more information becomes available.
