Volunteer for the “Special Needs Call Down Drill”
Tuesday, June 7, 2016
There are approximately 300 Special Needs registrants that need to be called twice a year to verify their information, and that they are still in need of assistance if there is an evacuation in their area.
Volunteers are needed to assist with contacting the Special Needs registrants and verifying their contact information. In the event of an actual evacuation Special Needs registrants would be contacted by volunteers to confirm they have transportation to evacuate safely.
Some Volunteer Activities Include:
- Tutoring or Mentoring
- Respite Care
- Emergency Preparedness Training and Response
- Home Repairs
- Medical Transport
- Tax Preparation
- Meal Delivery
