Special Needs Call Down Drill

Volunteers Needed to Assist with Contacting Special Needs Registrants.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a program of the Nature Coast Volunteer Center (NCVC) is hosting a Special Needs Call-Down Drill on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The training exercise is being sponsored in partnership with Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Section.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Nature Coast Volunteer Center hosts a forum for people to link-up with local volunteer opportunities.  This is an opportunity to meet with staff and volunteer managers and learn about their programs. RSVP and the Nature Coast Volunteer Center are the engines through which over 60 local organizations connect hundreds of volunteers to meaningful service opportunities throughout Citrus County.

These two programs invite seniors to "get out and about" with the Seniors on the Move Program, and if seniors are looking for some companionship, they can contact the Senior Companion Program.

Some Volunteer Activities Include:

  • Tutoring or Mentoring
  • Respite Care
  • Emergency Preparedness Training and Response
  • Home Repairs
  • Medical Transport
  • Tax Preparation
  • Meal Delivery
