The Planning Division within the Department of Growth Management is a resource section for transportation planning in Citrus County.
Citrus County is a member of the Hernando-Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the agency responsible for transportation planning for Citrus County.
On Wednesday, April 23, 2014, Governor Rick Scott approved the Joint Hernando-Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) planning boundary and voting membership. This followed the establishment of the Homosassa Springs-Beverly Hills-Citrus Springs Urbanized Area from the 2010 Census, and months of local and state coordination and support.
