Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise to hold two Corridor Alternatives Public Meetings

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise will hold a Corridor Alternatives Public Meeting at two locations for the Coastal Connector Alternative Corridor Evaluation Study that is evaluating new transportation corridor alternatives in Citrus and Marion Counties.  The meetings are being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning preliminary corridor alternatives

The Corridor Alternatives Public Meeting will take place at the locations and dates noted below.  The information will be the same at each meeting.

Citrus County Human Resources and Fire Rescue Attending CareerSource Job Fair on April 3

On Tuesday, April 3, 2018 Citrus County Human Resources and Fire Rescue will be attending the CareerSource Job Fair at the College of Central Florida from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Attendees interested in applying for positions with Citrus County will be instructed on submitting applications through NeoGov.

Flag Football Week One Recap

Citrus County Parks and Recreation kicked off its spring flag football season on March 22, 2018 with great excitement. Six out of seven teams went into action the first week. Camo defeated Black 31-8, Blue defeated White 14-6, and Teal shutout Gray 12-0. Week Two will take place at 6:30 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Homosassa Area Recreational Park.

Walking Trails closed for construction

Citrus County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Ron Kitchen will be holding a Town Hall Meeting for the general public to attend on Thursday, April 5, 2018. The meeting will be held at the Citrus Springs Community Center, located at 1570 W. Citrus Springs Blvd. in Citrus Springs from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. 

“I am looking forward to reporting back to the community on previous issues and hearing about new ones they wish addressed. This will continue to be a question and answer format and not a speech, so I encourage anyone with a question or an item that is important to them to attend,” explained Kitchen. 

The schedule for Commissioner Kitchen’s upcoming Town Hall Meetings is as follows:

Affordable Housing Advisory Committee to meet

NOTICE OF SR 44 TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURE FOR SIGNAL CONSTRUCTION

The Signal Mast Pole is to be set at the North West corner of the CR 491 and SR 44 Intersection. Outside West Bound Lane of SR 44 will be temporarily closed to accommodate this construction.

Lane closure will be a nighttime operation from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Closures and flagging operations are schedules to begin on Monday, April 2 through Wednesday, April 4. One lane on West Bound SR 44 will be provided through the work zone during the construction period. Motorists are asked to use caution while in the area.

Repaving of Lecanto Government Building Visitor Parking Lot DATE CHANGE
