Citrus County Code Compliance Director Scott McKinney and staff, along with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office responded to 4734 N Apache Trail in Hernando on Thursday, November 29, 2018 regarding several code violations. The property owner was issued multiple citations for the violations found on the property. One of which will require a mandatory court appearance (the accumulation of junk and debris)

The case for the accumulation of junk and debris has been ongoing since January of 2018. The property owner was found guilty by the Code Compliance Special Master on February 26, 2018 and has been fined; however, the property owner has yet to clean the property up.

This is the first property in Citrus County cited under the Board of County Commissioners’ new ordinance. This ordinance gives Code Compliance more leverage to get neglected properties cleaned up quickly and encourages citizens to do the right thing in helping keep their neighborhoods clean, and property values up.
