Santa Coming to Citrus County Libraries

Category: Press Releases       Posted By: Denise Gallagher       Year: 2018

Every year in December Santa Claus makes a special trip down from the North Pole to visit the Citrus County Library System. Each branch is doing something unique for the visit.

Santa’s first stop will be on Thursday December 6th at the Coastal Region Branch from 10:30am to 11:30am. There will be no shortage of songs and stories; children can make a craft and receive a special surprise. Santa will be available to listen to wishes and take photos.

On Tuesday December 11th at the Lakes Region Branch from 6pm to 7pm Santa will be attending a special “Stories with Santa”, featuring holiday stories and songs. Children will enjoy constructing a craft and receiving a special surprise. Santa will be available to listen to the children’s wishes and to take photos. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Lakes Region Library.

At Central Ridge Branch will be hosting a special “Elf Academy” on Wednesday the 12th from 4:30pm to 6pm. By joining the Elf Academy children will learn the festive skills needed to be an elf in Santa’s employ. Children will be able to show off their new skills to Santa, as well as share their holiday wishes and take photos.

Santa will make another stop on Thursday the 13th at the Floral City Branch from 6:30pm to 8:00pm for more “Stories with Santa”. Enjoy hearing your favorite holiday stories, make reindeer food, play reindeer games, and participate in a sing-a-long with the Floral City Heritage Council carolers. Santa will be available to take photos and listen to wishes. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Floral City Library.

On Tuesday December 18th the Homosassa Branch will be transforming the building into a “Winter Wonderland” from 5pm to 7pm. There will be holiday stories to listen to, crafts to create, cookies to decorate, and carols to sing. Santa will be available for photos and to share holiday wishes. Refreshments will be made available by the Friends of the Homosassa Library.
