Senior Programs “March for Meals” Community Center Open Houses Planned

Category: Press Releases       Posted By: Denise Gallagher       Year: 2019

Citrus County’s Community Centers still have room for more participants!  If you are a senior age 60 or better, why not consider attending a community center near you?  Each day, Monday through Friday, the local community centers are busy with socializing, activities and a FREE lunch!

Some of the center’s activities include Cards, Dominoes, Games, Ballroom and Line Dancing, Karaoke, Bingo, Exercise classes, Zumba, Arts & Craft classes, puzzles, and programs that take place throughout the day and some days there is live entertainment.  Some locations have billiard tables, indoor shuffleboard, and ping-pong.

If you find yourself sitting alone, or would just enjoy getting out and having a nutritious lunch, please consider participating at a community center. Maybe you had an interesting career or hobby that you would like to share with others; we are always looking for instructors to teach their skills, talents or hobbies.

We invite you to attend an “Open House” at any of four community center locations on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at following locations:

Central Citrus Community Center - 2804 W. Marc Knighton Ct. Lecanto FL (352) 527-5933

West Citrus Community Center - 8940 W. Veterans Drive, Homosassa, FL (352) 795-3831

East Citrus Community Center - 9907 E. Gulf to Lake Highway, Inverness, FL (352) 344-9666

Inverness Community Center – 1082 N. Paul Dr. Inverness, FL 34450 (352) 726-1009

Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.  Hurry while we are still taking new members! Stop by and let our friendly staff show you around the building and tell you about what we have to offer.  For more information, or to reserve lunch for that day, please call the numbers listed above for the location closest to you.
