The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners presented a Proclamation at their regular meeting on May 14, 2019 congratulating the Knights of Columbus, Abbot Francis Sadlier Council 6168, Beverly Hills, on their 50th anniversary.
The Knights of Columbus Abbot Francis Sadlier Council 6168 was chartered by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council, New Haven, Connecticut, on May 31, 1969 in Beverly Hills, Florida. The Knights of Columbus, Abbot Francis Sadler Council through model citizenship, charitable activities and generous donations during the past 50 years, has contributed immensely to the greater good of the citizens of Citrus County. In the last 10 years, earned, collected and donated in excess of $275,000 to charitable nonprofit organizations in Citrus County, provided coats for Citrus County children who otherwise would have had none in the cold of winter and inspired Citrus County citizens to donate toys to Santa Claus for children who otherwise would have received none at Christmas.
During the last 50 years the Knights of Columbus, Abbot Francis Sadlier Council has created, organized, supervised and led countless activities for young men and women of Citrus County, basketball free throw championships, spelling bees, soccer challenges to name a few. The members proudly espouse the virtues of charity, unity, fraternalism and patriotism in all that they do for the good of citizens and should be praised for their history of generosity, dedication, devotion to fellow men and women and model citizenship.
The Board of County Commissioners of Citrus County congratulates the members of the Knights of Columbus Abbot Francis Sadlier Council 6168 on its 50th Anniversary in Citrus County, Florida and calls the occasion to the attention of all citizens.
