SUBJECT: Animals in Public Buildings |

This Administrative Regulation is developed to outline when and where animals, as defined by Citrus County Code Section 14-32, are permitted or restricted within County- owned buildings.
- No person or persons owning or having charge, care, custody or control of any animal, as defined by Citrus County Code Section 14-32, shall allow said animal to enter or remain in any county-owned building.
- The following exceptions shall apply:
- when waived by approval of the Board of County Commissioners; or
- if the animal is a service animal in use or training as set forth in Section 413.08, F.S.; or
- at the Citrus County Courthouse when directed by a court of law; or
- in and around the Citrus County Animal Services facility or other County locations being utilized by Animal Services staff for training, treatment or similar activities.
- if the animal is in the service of or contracted for service by a law enforcement agency
- unless otherwise provided by law.
