The Inverness Airport is owned and maintained by the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners and operated by the Fixed Based Operator (FBO).  The Airport is located south of Inverness on US 41 on approximately 350 acres.

Inverness Airport is served by one runway, Runway 01/19 which is 5,000' by 75' wide with a full parallel taxiway. The airport has an AWOS, GPS1 and GPS19 approaches, and Jet A and 100LL fuel which is self-serve. The airport has two 14,000 square yard paved aircraft parking aprons. One is located on the north end of the airfield, and the other is located on the south end next to the new FBO/terminal/maintenance hangar. Also located on the south end of the airfield, adjacent to the new terminal/maintenance hangar, is a 16-unit T-Hangar building.

Inverness Airport serves the basic needs of general aviation. Approximately 75 percent of the annual operations of the airport are related to sport aviation/recreational flying. Flight training is a small component of the airport general aviation activity. The Citrus County Sheriff's Office conducts their flight operations from the Inverness Airport. The airport also attracts a number of transient or visiting aircraft, with approximately 20 percent of its business originating from visiting aircraft.

inverness-airportThe vision of the County for the future of the airport is to provide a first-class airport for based flight schools, business, recreational flying, and business park development. The Inverness Airport Business-Industrial Park is currently in the pre-design phase.  Inverness Airport anticipates significant growth in the future.
