Katch Twenty Two owners Richard and Tiffany Wiggins, along with staff, took time before a busy evening of serving great food on Friday, July 24 to accept a CARES Act Small Business Grant check from Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Second Vice Chairman Ron Kitchen. Katch Twenty Two is the first business in the county to complete their application and receive the grant.

Richard and Tiffany, like many small business owners, have risen to the challenge of adapting to the ever-changing business climate created by COVID-19. “Thank you to the entire Citrus County Board of County Commissioners for the grant,” said Tiffany. “We are very appreciative!” At fifty percent seating capacity, at least for the near future, restaurants in the county struggle to stay open and retain staff.

The Wiggins purchased the Rusty Duck in 2016; a local restaurant institution located at 2924 W Gulf to Lake Hwy, Lecanto and opened their doors four months later. The Katch Twenty Two menu features locally sourced seafood, as well as some of Chef Richard’s favorite and most raved about dishes from his extensive 20-year hospitality career. The couple recently opened the Katch Mobile Food Truck, which has quickly become a popular lunch stop for residents and visitors alike.

The recovery grants of $7,500 are available to eligible small businesses adversely impacted by the COVID‐19 Pandemic.  Applications will be electronic only at, www.citrusbocc.com/cares.  The on-line application takes approximately ten minutes and is simple to navigate. A CARES support number  has  been  created  at,  352-527-5449,  to  assist  small  business  owners  with  questions pertaining to the grant and online application.
