Extension Announces May Gardening Seminars
UF/IFAS Citrus County Extension Office is offering two virtual gardening seminars in May. Online
pre- registration is required for both free events.
Summer’s heat and humidity can take a toll on vegetable garden plants, but do not give up. There
are a few plants that can beat the heat. Now is the time to start these durable plants. Check out
the “Summer Vegetable Gardens” seminar to gain some tips for success and maybe a few new plants to
try this summer. The seminar will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 starting at 6:30pm. To
register, visit summervegetables.eventbrite.com.
Gardeners often want some garden color to brighten up the garden, but many traditional annuals pale
or wither under summer’s intense heat and humidity. Join the “Summer Annuals That Can Take the
Heat” session to learn about plant choices that can chug through this stressful period with flying
colors. The seminar will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 starting at 1:00pm. To register, visit
summerannuals.eventbrite.com.
