Hernando Area Senior Center Temporarily Closed for Construction

Citrus  County  Facilities  Maintenance  will  demolish  an  unoccupied  structure  at  the  
Hernando  Historic School complex, located at the intersection of CR486 and Hwy 41. Work is 
scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, with an anticipated completion date of Tuesday, July 
19, 2022.

To ensure the safety of our staff, clients, and the public, the Hernando Area Senior facility is 
temporarily closing while needed improvements are being made to the property. Seniors wishing to 
participate in congregate dining and social activities will be directed to the nearest community 
center:

Those who utilize the public transportation system to attend community center activities can
