Museum Presents Free Children's Programs in March

The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, located at is 1 Courthouse Square in Downtown
Inverness, presents free events for children on the first and third Saturdays of each month.

On March 4, 2023, bring the kids to Turtle Trek: A Kids’ Nature Walk at Cooter Pond. Staff will
describe different species, what they eat, and where they live. Alligators are almost always seen
near turtles, as are many species of birds. Participants will meet at the museum at 9:00am, and
staff will guide a walk to the pond. The program will last for about an hour. Water and binoculars
will be provided, but please be sure to bring your own sunscreen.

Then, on March 18, the museum will host A Leprechaun Limerick Loxodrome. Clues written in limerick
form will be posted and hidden throughout the museum for a St. Paddy’s Day search for a
leprechaun’s lost pot of gold. Prizes will be discovered at the end. Because groups must be
staggered throughout the day (so as not to give the secrets away), please call ahead to arrange a
start time for your family between 10:00am and 4:00pm.

Spaces will be limited for both programs. Parents and guardians should pre-register for Turtle Trek
and/or the Leprechaun event by calling the museum at (352) 341-6428. Children must be supervised by
their accompanying adults during the entirety of each of these programs.

For more information, please call (352) 341-6428 or e-mail museum@citrusbocc.com.
