Hernando Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization May Meeting Summary

The Hernando/Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) met on May 14, 2020 in a public meeting at the Hernando County Government Center John Law Ayers County Commission Chambers, 20 N Main Street, Room 160, Brooksville, FL.
The points of interest from the meeting are below:

•             The Hernando/Citrus MPO adopted the FY 2020/21-FY 2021/2022 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The UPWP defines annual transportation planning efforts, with proposed budget cost and funding sources for the work tasks outlined in the document. The UPWP included the annual certifications required for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Federal Transit Agency (FTA)
•             The MPO Board authorized staff to submit the Draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for FY 2021- 2025 to the FDOT, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FTA. The Draft TIP has been posted to the MPO website and public review and comment is encouraged. The TIP contains the funded FDOT Five-Year Work Program and the local jurisdiction Transportation Work Programs.
•             The MPO Board initiated review of the List of Priority Projects for FY 2021/2022. The LOPPs are priority projects identified by the MPO which are considered for funding by the FDOT during development of their upcoming tentative work program.
•             The MPO Board concurred with the extension of Transit Grant I178 to June 30, 2022.
•             The Transportation Planning Funding Agreement between the MPO and the FDOT was approved by the Board. The agreement will be forwarded to the FDOT for execution.
•             Applications for the Transportation Disadvantaged Program Grants for FY 2021 were approved by the MPO Board for submittal to the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged.
•             The Quarterly Budget Summary was presented to the MPO for review.
