Apply Now for the Citrus County Fall Citizens Academy

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) invites you to attend the Citrus County
Citizens Academy. This free 13-week program is held once a week on Thursday. All sessions will be
held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. This course is designed to educate
citizens about the offices that implement the policy of the BOCC and to give residents a hands- on,
behind-the-scenes look at what, how, and why the county’s departments and divisions do what they
do.

The training is cumulative in nature, so applicants are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions.
An applicant that misses a session will be afforded an opportunity to make up for a missed session
in a future class season. Graduation will be held at the end of the course at the Old Courthouse
Museum in Downtown Inverness.

Those who are interested in participating should contact Leyda Rivera, Citizens Academy Coordinator
at Leyda.Rivera@citrusbocc.com. Applications are due by Friday, January 19, 2024. For more
information, please call (352) 527-5900.
