Poster Contest to Encourage Saving Water

Citrus County Utilities (CCU) is seeking student participation in the annual Drop Savers poster
contest. Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to create a poster depicting a water- saving idea
in slogan form, drawing form, or both. In support of the United States Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) WaterSense program Fix a Leak Week initiative, the contest helps raise awareness to
the nearly one- trillion gallons of water wasted from household leaks each year.

A twenty-five-dollar cash prize will be awarded to the countywide first place winners in each of
the five divisions. Posters will be judged by grade level as follows: Division 1 (kindergarten &
first grades), Division 2 (second & third grades), Division 3 (fourth & fifth grades), Division 4
(sixth, seventh, & eighth grades), and Division 5 (ninth through twelfth grades). A fifty-dollar
cash prize will be awarded to each division winner’s teacher for art supplies, as well as a plaque
displaying the winning artwork.

Posters must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024. Mail or deliver submissions to
3600 W Sovereign Path, Suite 202, Lecanto, FL 34461. For contest guidelines, call (352) 527-7684.

The CCU poster contest is part of Keep Citrus County Beautiful’s annual Save Our Waters Week
campaign and the Florida Section of American Water Works Association statewide Drop Savers poster
contest.
