County Fills Key Administrative Positions

Marcello Tavernari V1-Web
The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners has tapped Marcello Tavernari, P.E. as its Public Works Director, and Mike Bridges as Communications Manager.
Tavernari brings two decades of extensive experience in Public Works, Utilities and Civil Engineering/Construction to Citrus County, most recently for Hillsborough County. His service in local government also includes city government posts in Dunedin and Largo.
A member of the American Public Works Association (APWA), he has also held posts on the Pinellas MPO and Largo Parks Advisory Board, and was chair of both the Stormwater and Traffic Committees for the City of Largo.
Tavernari earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Florida, and holds numerous professional certifications, from FEMA and FDOT, among others. In addition to his tenure in local government, Tavernari has additional private sector experience, as both a consultant and a project manager

Bridges has been in service to Citrus County for the last year with Citrus Libraries. His professional background includes broadcast, print and digital media, hospitality/tourism, marketing, public relations, and special events.
Bridges is a graduate of James Madison University, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. He has served as Director of Communications for multiple organizations, including the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, and the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
